The long awaited new album from Alan Turner and the Steel Horse Band will be available very soon!
RIDE ON is a 12 track compilation of that signature rocking country sound that Alan and the band have come to be known by. Featuring their current single: If It’s Broke (I Can Fix It).
Here’s an inside look at each track:
1. Preludio De La Ride On
This instrumental track was developed over the course of several months as the band began playing Steel Horse Ride in front of LIVE audiences. It’s really meant to introduce and set the stage for the story being told in that next track. The classical Spanish guitar work of J.T. Monroe is outstanding. (Music by J.T. Monroe)
2. Steel Horse Ride
A high energy rocking song from start to finish. Tells the story of a fathers mission to find vengeance and vigilante justice on the criminal who raped and murdered his daughter. A modern story that echoes visions of the old west and Mexico. (Music & lyrics by Alan Turner and J.T. Monroe)
3. If It’s Broke (I Can Fix It)
First single to be released from this album. It is a high energy fan favorite. If Tim Allen had a favorite country song this would be it. (Music & lyrics Mark Richardson)
4. River Town
Beautiful ballad looking back at life growing up in the small town of St Clair, Michigan where Alan and song writer, J.T. Williams grew up. Summers growing up in a river town consist of a lot swimming, fishing and good ole fashion baseball. (Music & lyrics by J.T. Williams)
5. Don’t Leave Me Now
Purely upbeat country with tongue and cheek humor that will leave you laughing. Not meant to be chauvinistic but ya just gotta laugh when the guy says “Don’t leave me now… I’m pretty hungry. This doesn’t make any sense? Why ain’t those steaks done yet?” (Music & lyrics by Mark Richardson)
6. You And I
A pure love ballad with a retro 70’s feel. Writing from the heart, that moment when you realize what it means to be in love is beautifully captured. (Music & lyrics by Alan Turner and J.T. Monroe)
7. Love Button. -A Social Network Love Song-
Listen closely to the lyrics and get ready to laugh. The song pokes fun at falling in love with someone you’ve never met online. With a great hillbilly redneck beat you’ll find yourself tapping your toes and laughing out loud. (Music & lyrics by Alan Turner and J.T. Monroe)
8. What U Want
Alan and the band have had this song in their quiver for sometime now. It’s a unique love song with a great beat. (Music &lyrics by J.T. Williams)
9. The 99
2012 is an election year and the country is barely recovering from the Great Recession. Unemployment is high and there’s a lot of anger on all sides of our economic woes. There’s a lot of talk about the top 1%… This country rock anthem is about the other 99% and the pride of working hard for what you’ve earned. (Music & lyrics by Alan Turner and J.T. Monroe)
10. It’s What I Like (When We Kiss)
A Strong love ballad that immediately grabbed Alan’s attention the moment he heard it.
“I was approached with this song by one of the writers. We had been gearing up for the new album and were looking for a love ballad… this song had every element we were looking for in a love song. I think the fans will love it.” explained Alan.
(Music & lyrics by Jason Hamor, Mace Hathaway and Tim Bezy)
11. Boots Hit The Floor
Barn stomping country music at its best. Reminiscent of great line dance music like we heard in the 90’s. “Heel to toe dancing at its best. Long neck bottles all dripping in sweat… You keep them coming. I’ll drink a few more. Just to see them cowgirls and watch their boots hit the floor”. (Music and lyrics by Mark Richardson)
12. We Are Young And So Is The Night
It was the bands producer, Kevin Sharpe who suggested this song written by a couple of guys with some great Nashville song writing experience. (JT Harding who wrote Smile and Good To Be Me for Uncle Kracker and Gordie Sampson who penned Jesus Take The Wheel for Carrie Underwood).
“We liked it the moment we heard it” said Alan.
The song expands on the band sound and will surely be a fan favorite. (Music & lyrics by JT Harding, Gordie Sampson and Jay Smith)
